"Miss Amanda"

Well today marks the first day of an adventure. An adventure some people in the world call a "career". It was my first day being paid to work with children on a professional level. It was a crazy hectic day, and I'm utterly exhausted, but mostly because of all the information I had to take in and try to remember. The kids seem awesome, I'm really excited to get to know them. They call me "Miss Amanda" which is really cute. It's really strange not being a practicum student though. I'm so used to staying out of peoples' way, not knowing information about children, and asking permission to do things like create an aesthetic display. But as my boss told me today, this is mine and one other teacher's area. We can do what we like. I'm a staff member, I am involved in planning, and my opinions matter! It's a great feeling... Makes all this debt I'm in seem worthwhile!!
